I could not put this book down.

When trying to decide what book to read next, I often put a stack of the contenders next to me and read the first few pages of each. One will usually speak to me more than the others, and that’s the one I go with.

My first few pages turned into the first 80 pages of the book in one sitting.

On the eve of her wedding to her wonderful fiancé, Emma Blair gets a phone call from the husband she thought was dead. What happens next is a beautiful character study in how love helps us shape and understand who we are - and how ultimately loving someone tells us more about the person we want to be more than it is about the person we want to be with.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is an incredible writer - I’ve loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones and the Six - and I will absolutely be making my way through her back catalogue.
